FOODIE: Oiso Korean Traditional Cuisine & Cafe Review

The other day, the Mis Claire team went for a Girls' Night Out to watch the new Spiderman movie at GSC Tropicana City Mall - so we decided to try the Korean restaurant in the mall called OISO.

First of all, let's talk about the selection - not too bad, a lot of kimchi dishes - with a selection of steamboat, rice, ramen, side dishes, and others.

I would say this would be the highlight of the dinner, the kimchi steamboat! You need to let it cook for awhile before you eat it and wow the soup has got 'kick'!

This is probably the favourite dish among the Mis Claire team, the chicken with melted cheese.

This is the kimchi ramen which one of us was craving for. I think this is just ok, compared to the soup of the kimchi steamboat - maybe you can add the kimchi side dish into this ramen soup for more flavour.

The kimchi fried rice is a safe option for Korean food newbies - you can hardly taste the kimchi but as a fried rice, it tastes good.

And of course, to complete it all, you can have your protein fix with the Korean omelette pancake, which is fried eggs with vegetables in it.

Of course, with any good Korean dining, you will get bottomless and refillable side dishes. The anchovies (ikan bilis) was surprisingly good for such a humble-looking dish. I liked this green leafy vegetable a lot, but when I wanted a refill, it was finished so they gave something else which I didn't like. The kimchi is a staple must-have! Good and strong!

So after finishing the meal (for 5 of us was about RM130, not that pricey ya) we all headed to the cinema to watch Spiderman: Homecoming which was about 2 hours plus. No, we won't give spoilers haha! What a nice night!
