How To Build Your Confidence As A Plus Size Woman

It is a tough world out there - but remember you are not alone! Here are some tried-and-tested ways to build your confidence to help you achieve a better quality of life.

1. Get inspired.

I love to save inspiring photos on my phone -  be it style, fashion or makeup. Follow Instagram-ers that inspire you and search for blogs that you can subscribe to. Once you surround yourself with light, only then you can shine too.

2. Remember your strengths and value.

What are you good at? What are your skills? Maybe you are good in music, drawing, cooking or writing? Make it your thing.

3. Have a motto.

4. Find your squad.

Surround yourself with positive and supportive people, and in that same note, limit time with negative and soul-sucking emotional vampires.

5. Accept compliments.

And BELIEVE them. Say thanks and move on - no need to be modest and put yourself down. Fake your confidence 'til you make it.

6. Stop comparing.

This is hard - even for seemingly "perfect" people. Remember it is impossible to compare yourself to others since everyone is so vastly different. Why not use that energy to focus on what makes you unique?

7. Learn a new hobby.

This is a great way to take focus off your looks - and build something of yourself that is more sustainable and worthwhile.

8. Wear clothes that you love.

9. Accept that it will be hard - be realistic.

You know what? No one said life was going to be easy. Accept that there will be good days and bad days - and be prepared to be strong when faced with difficulties.

10. Keep your body feeling good.

Go for your medical check ups. Go for that massage or pedicure. Take care of your body and skin. Eat well and enjoy food. The goal is to feel good.
