Hi ladies, it is the end of a long week and some of you might be stressed and tired from working hard! Here are some simple self-care tips that you can do this weekend (or right now)!
Disconnect from social media
One of my favourites way to take care of my mental and emotional health is forgetting about social media for awhile. You can tell your loved ones that you will not be replying messages for awhile and assure them that you are fine. Have some me-time and forget about others for awhile. Focus on you.
Stay-in all weekend
Say no to plans - with no apologies. Sometimes social commitments can really take a toll on you. Recharge your mental and emotional batteries by staying-in and just doing what you want. (A good Netflix binge, comfy lounge wear and Grabfood sounds like the perfect weekend.)
Arrange for time to sleep in
Are your weekends for sleeping in or are you even MORE busy on weekends? Arrange with your family to let you get your precious beauty sleep for one morning. It works wonders when you finally get enough sleep!
Take a vitamin
If you are like me, you will have bottles of forgotten vitamins in your fridge. The act of taking a supplement is a good first step. Just don't forget to check the expiry date!
Drink water
You heard it a million and one times - hydrate! Fill up a bottle and bring it with you this weekend. Don't need to gulp and bloat - just take small sips constantly to rejuvenate your insides.
Wear your favourite perfume
This is a pick-me-up anytime! You might have a special expensive perfume that you have splurged on, or just a scent that you really love - spray it on and get in your best mood the whole day!
Take a long bath
Set our your step-by-step care and do it once a week. Shampoo, conditioner, hair mask, leave-in treatment, soap, scrub, lotion - the works! And be present in the moment when you are taking good care of yourself. You can also complete it with an at-home facial, complete with face masks and all.
Perfect your no-makeup makeup look
Putting on makeup is also a therapeutic act of self-care - no matter what level you are at. I love setting out all my makeup and try to find my go-to daily look and put those products in a small bag for easy access. It de-clutters your makeup kit and also makes you feel pretty and polished.
De-clutter a small area
Although this doesn't sound like fun, de-cluttering does a lot for stress relief because the act of organizing helps your thought process. Don't overwhelm yourself - start with a small area, drawer or category of things. It clears your mind. (And get rid of junk.)
Go for a walk
Ah the power of fresh air and exercise - go to a nice and safe place where you won't have any anxiety about dangers or crowds. You don't need to work a sweat, just move and breathe.
